Tera Copy Pro 2 Beta 2.2

December 18, 2007

Hey, geeks out there! This is really geekalicious. Read on!!

Tera copy has released its next iteration but it is in beta, But still it works pretty fast. The developer has added some cool features to voice out here.

1. Now, systems can be shutdown once the copying has been done. It shows a default time of 5 minutes. It would have been nice if it could be customized according to the time, say, 30 seconds or 1 minute. .

2. Now the files can be prioritized which has to be copied first after adding to the Tera copy list as well. You can get the reports as well.

3. Three modes of tera copy is continued even in this iteration.
a. Compact Mode
b. Full Mode
c. Caption Mode

It would have been much more nice if they have added another mode; well, you figured it, System tray (hide it).

4. Now, we can save reports of the things we copied. It is especially becomes handy for all the systems administrators.
Since it is in beta, I think all the features are available but once if it comes out of beta
then it may not have all the features in the free edition.

But it is still worth to purchase this little geekalicious software.

5. These are put up on the Tera Copy’s website :

  • Select files with the same extension/same folder
  • Remove selected files from the copy queue
  • Get free updates and priority support

6. James Harrow has done the job well. I would like to share some of the features to be added to this nifty software.
a. One feature has been removed from the previous version viz to increase or decrease buffer.
b. Add the feature to generate HTML reports as well which would be an added advantage for all the Systems Administrators who are going to use it.
c. Very little help is available about Directory Opus. Please give more help so other newbies to get acquainted with this cool things it does.
d. Add the MD5 hashing algorithm and also display the MD5 characters.
e. Earlier it used to copy and test the things simultaneously. I think that feature has been removed. Please do add it.

Convert iPod touch into a IP Walkie-Talkie [Ipod Touch]

December 13, 2007

According to the creators of the microphone for iPod touch, their invention works perfectly with Nikotalkie, software that can send voice messages over the internet. While this is not as fluid as a real phone conversation and it’s not exactly push-to-talk, it looks like a cheap, easy way to communicate with people without having to resort to text messages like “U R

iLava: iPod Speaker Docking Station For Dirty Hippies [IPod Docks]

December 11, 2007

Even if Greenpeace isn’t on the Apple bandwagon, research shows that Apple customers are the greenest among computer companies. With all those hippie dollars to be had, it is not surprising that someone decided to combine the lava lamp with an iPod speaker system and docking station. The main feature is a LED light show that syncs with the music—adding to the trippy vibe. Too bad we can’t get dirty, smelly hippies interested in more practical iPod docks. Available for $100.

December 7, 2007

It doesn’t take a genius to figure out what sets the Jabra BT3030 apart from other headsets. In case you didn’t notice, the BT3030 is all about how a dog tag design can make you look cool and masculine (or like a massive poser). As far as functionality is concerned, the device has some interesting qualities, like a universal connection, a personalized equalizer, exchangeable headphones and multiple wearing styles
It also features Bluetooth 2.0 compatibility, the ability to connect to two Bluetooth devices simultaneously, 230 hours of standby, 8 hours of talk time, and 7 hours of music playing. Available for around $72.

Nextlink Invisio G5, World’s Smallest Bluetooth Headset

December 7, 2007

Nextlink Invisio G5 is the world’s smallest Bluetooth headset. So I’m waisting your time. We’re retreading old ground. You want to know one thing—just how small is this headset? 3.3cm long and 1.6cm wide, or 1.2in long and .6in wide for the less metrically inclined. And it still manages decent functionality.
Less that six grams in weight, the Invisio G5 manages to include a three button interface and a ‘Soft Spring’ for comfort. And the battery life, while not stunning, will keep up with most mobiles with four hours of talk time and up to 150 hours of standby. Apparently the headset also comes with Nextlink’s Protective Charging Case that recharges the device for up to 20 hours of talk time and 30 days of standby before the need for a plug.
Then again, in its case, the G5 is neither the world’s smallest Bluetooth headset nor in any way function…so you take the good with the bad.The Invisio G5 looks to be Europe only for now, costing the equivalent of $165.

FalseDowry, What is dowry?

December 4, 2007

First, let’s get started to share the information with the world that what exactly, it’s all about the IPC 498a; False Dowry Cases being put by a girl on the naive and orthodox men families in India.

The funny thing about this IPC section is women can put Dowry case on her husband and family anytime and even if it is found false; no action is being taken by Indian Law. This is the biggest joke one could ever find.

Once upon a time men used to demand dowry (wealth got from wife) either by wife’s father or wife’s earnings. But now, times have been changed it is the other way around. Women have become a sowry seeker. They marry young and NRI men just to seek the money from them.

Some of them even put their talk in such a way that , “Take me to USA, if things dont go well between you and me, then you give me divorce at US.”

Gals who says this are very intelligent because they can get the divorce in US within 6 months which is very much fast when compard to getting the divorce in India; Divorce might take decades.

Half of the property is also got by a gal along with the Green Card. This is the fastest way of earning a green card, American Visa, Money. I wanna include these kind of women in the list of wannabe courtesans.!!!

Indian Law is only for young women and does not bother about older women in the society. There are times and there are people who does not look after their daughter in law/wife. But everyone is not the same what one could ever think of..!!?!

SPIM on Yahoo! Messenger

December 4, 2007

SPIM on Yahoo! Messenger named FunnyUSTScandal.avi.exe and xmss.exe

SPIM _ Spam on Instant Messaging.

If the computer is infected with this virus then whenever user logs in to their respective Yahoo! Messenger then it will ask that person to download and if the user without knowledge downloads it, thinking that their friend is sending some file.

This virus gets installed in the shell of the explorer.

It means whenever computer is started even before logging inside this virus gets started. And, what’s worse it uses lot of processes and hides the task manager, registry, Process Explorer, Task Killer; the moment you open them.

Finally, I removed this virus by searching in the blog; I got one removal tool and ran that. The virus got removed.

Syphone Backs Up SMS Messages From Your iPhone [Software]

December 4, 2007

Joining the cacophony of OS X apps that only do one thing (but one thing really well), here’s the Syphone. It’s freeware, which is nice, and serves to back up your SMS messages so you can read them later. It even allows you to–if we’re reading this right–import messages to your phone, which means you can covertly inject a message into your buddy’s phone from his ex asking whether he wants to get back together. We’re probably reading that wrong. [Micromat via SMS Text News via Giga Om]

Sync Your iPhone, iPod Touch Over Wi-Fi [Software]

December 4, 2007

If the Zune can wirelessly sync over your home network, why can’t your iPhone? A developer’s made an automatic GUI syncing tool that essentially rsync’s a folder on your computer to a folder on your iPhone/iTouch. That by itself is pretty lame and quite limited–especially compared with a full sync you get when you dock your iPhone regularly–but future features are coming that will let you sync your iTunes library, your photos and your contacts. Nowthat’s something we want to see. [Google Code via Everything Cafe via Appletell -
